Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is a mechanism for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to build and maintain a continuous quality culture. Its primary objective is to develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic action to improve academic and administrative performance, institutionalizing best practices across all operational levels.

It is the quality ensuring body of the college structured as per the UGC recommendations. Quality enhancement of any institution is a continuous process and the IQAC works towards achieving and accomplishing the goals of the institution. IQAC has the following objectives:

Role of IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell)

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is a quality sustenance and enhancement mechanism established in higher educational institutions as per the guidelines of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

Major Roles and Functions of IQAC, at our GCPT

1. Quality Enhancement

    * Develop and implement quality benchmarks for academic and administrative activities.

    * Promote continuous improvement in teaching-learning processes.

2. Academic Monitoring

    * Monitor curriculum delivery and academic performance.

    * Encourage innovative teaching methods, ICT-enabled learning, and outcome-based education.

3. Documentation and Record Keeping

    * Maintain comprehensive documentation of institutional activities.

    * Collect and analyze data related to academic and administrative performance.

4. Feedback Mechanism

    * Obtain feedback from students, faculty, alumni, employers, and other stakeholders.

    * Analyze feedback and recommend corrective measures.

5. Research and Innovation Promotion

    * Encourage research activities, publications, patents, consultancy, and funded projects.

    * Promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry collaboration.

6. Faculty Development

    * Organize Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, seminars, and training sessions.

    * Facilitate professional growth and capacity building of faculty and staff.

7. Student Support and Progression

    * Monitor student mentoring, placement, higher education progression, and skill development initiatives.

    * Promote student-centric learning practices.

8. Quality Audits

    * Conduct Academic and Administrative Audits (AAA), Green Audits, Energy Audits, and other quality assessments.

    * Recommend corrective and preventive actions.

9. NAAC and Accreditation Activities

    * Coordinate preparation of AQAR (Annual Quality Assurance Report).

    * Facilitate accreditation and ranking exercises such as NAAC, NIRF, and other quality assessments.

10. Institutional Best Practices

    * Identify, document, and disseminate best practices.

    * Promote quality culture across all departments and functional units.
